Worship & Spiritual Life

The overall purpose of the Worship and Spiritual Life committee is to plan and provide for the spiritual development of each member of the parish through liturgical celebrations, significant prayer experiences, and spiritual growth programs. The committee works to coordinate the activities of all parish liturgical ministries and provides formation for all liturgical ministers.


 

Liturgical Ministers Schedule
7050 - Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers serve at Sunday Liturgies and also bring communion to the sick of the parish. This position is appointed by the Pastor.  If you were a Euchariistic Minister in a previous parish and would like to serve, please contact Mary Ann Dunn.

 

7100 - Ministers of Hospitality

Hospitality Ministers greet those attending Mass with the objective of instilling a sense of belonging.  Duties also include participating in the offertory, distributing bulletins and straightening the Sanctuary after Mass.  Eligible volunteers include men, women and young adults with a warm, welcoming personality.
 

 

7150 - Lectors

Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass. New lectors complete a one-hour microphone check and training period; and workshops and other sessions are available thereafter for existing lectors if liturgical needs merit them.
 

 

7200 - Altar Servers

Altar servers have the important responsibility of assisting the priest during Mass and other special events. Potential servers must be in the fifth grade or higher and willing to attend training sessions.
 

 

7250 - First Friday Adoration

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place the first Friday of each month after the 8 a.m. Communion Service ending with Benediction on Saturday morning. Participants may sign up for desired time slots in the narthex the weekend prior to the Exposition
.

 

7300 - Prayer Chain

This group prays for the needs and special intentions of parish members.  Volunteers may sign-up to be on the prayer chain list.

 

Rosary Group

Anyone is invited to meet after daily 8:00 A.M. Mass to pray the rosary aloud with others.

 

7350 - Rosary Makers

Making rosaries which are given to parishioners, community schools and missions is the objective of this group. Volunteers are trained and materials are provided.  

 

7400 - Art & Environment

This committee's objective is to plan a liturgically correct and attractive environment for prayerful liturgies.   Members meet monthly to determine needs and set plans. Volunteers with a desire to improve the church environment are always welcome.

7450 - Martha Ministry

This group cares for the altar in the sanctuary and chapel. Volunteers are needed for a one month rotation.


 

7500 - Landscape Committee

This committee's objective is to plan and maintain the grounds surrounding the church. Volunteers are needed to help with seasonal plantings and other landscaping projects.

7550 - Mother & Daughter Garden Club

This club is a great way for mothers to share the love of nature and gardening with their daughters. 

 

 

7600 - Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is an Association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, have formed themselves into a legion for service. The spirit of the Legion of Mary is that of Mary herself. During the week Legion Members might visit a homebound person or do other good works of mercy. Meetings will be held every Monday at 9 a.m. in the Church Kitchen.

 

7650 - Healing Prayer Ministry

This prayer team is available to pray with anyone needing physical or emotional healing. If you are in need of healing prayers, come to the church library on the first Wednesday of the month at 2 p.m. or following the Wednesday 7 p.m. Mass.
